What to Expect:

  • No special preparation is needed for most exams.
  • You’ll lie comfortably while a warm gel is applied to the skin.
  • A handheld device (transducer) is moved over the area to check blood flow.
  • The test is painless, non-invasive, and usually takes 30–45 minutes (ABI about 15–20 minutes).
  • You can return to normal activities right after.
